2008 Roadster iPod Cable Installation

Photos showing the disassembly required to run a new iPod cable in the 2008 Tesla Roadster. The original JVC unit runs one cable to a collection of devices stored in a polystyrene insert at the bottom of the area behind the left dash/console piece. From there, the iPod support module runs a custom iPod cable under the driver side carpet and into the bottom of the lower center console piece. Replacing that cable requires removing the left console pieces, the driver's seat and the entire center console.

The driver seat is held in place by four bolts: two 13 mm hex head bolts in front and two 6 mm hex socket bolts in back. The two back bolts attach through two metal brackets which will be free to fall out after the bolts are removed. There are also two electrical cables that will need to be unplugged.
