2008 Roadster iPod Cable Installation

Photos showing the disassembly required to run a new iPod cable in the 2008 Tesla Roadster. The original JVC unit runs one cable to a collection of devices stored in a polystyrene insert at the bottom of the area behind the left dash/console piece. From there, the iPod support module runs a custom iPod cable under the driver side carpet and into the bottom of the lower center console piece. Replacing that cable requires removing the left console pieces, the driver's seat and the entire center console.

This photo of the left dash piece (after removal) shows the tongue on the right side that fits under the dashboard segment. To remove this left-side piece, first remove the two pairs of screws (as described previously), then pull on the left side of the top of the piece to carefully release the two clips (see next photo) and decouple from dashboard piece.
